Rockefeller Center is littered with all kinds of culinary crap. From overpriced pretentious corporate steakhouses to buffet style variety deli's and of course the ever-present fast food chains, a lot of times it seems like my only lunch options come in a cart off the street(not that there's anything wrong with that). Sometimes though, you just want to sit down, have a bite, and pretend that you don't have to rush back to work in 1/2 an hour. Channel 4 offers up that kind of environment for those of us who've grown quite weary of the endlessly mundane local options. The bar is lovely, not too busy, the service is great, and the food is very good. The prices are average, which is saying something because even Mickey D's hikes their burger a buck or two in this area.
Real nice place, I love hitting this place up after meetings in the Midtown area. Bartenders are nice, food is pretty good and there seems to always be a nice professional after work crowd here. If your in the area check it out but I would not go out of my way to go here.
I work around the area, and every bar around is very expensive. Now granted you're not getting "deals" here on drinks or food, but they are very reasonable for being in that location. I like coming here after work for a drink or two, but this place is hit or miss at times. Sometimes is packed, and sometimes it's dead. But it's definitely some place you should try out if around the area.
